Supported by the Trinity County Arts Council and local artists, Art for Art's Sake is excited to return on Dec. 11, 2021. The event starts at 5 p.m. and ends 8:30 p.m. at the Trinity County Fairgrounds.
In addition to art and wares available from local Hayfork artists, you can enjoy an elegant evening with art, food, beverages and an art auction. (Small children are not recommended to attend.) This year will include 12 artists and their varying crafts including:
Angel McMorrow - "Angel is a Trinity County native who constantly expands her artistic horizons. Her artsy nature and talents create a contagious ambition for others to follow her progress as she grows and expands her abilities."
Jim Lactignola - "Jim is a longtime Trinity county resident. For years he made a living as a top notch carpenter and cabinet maker, recently he has focused on exquisite bowls and magnificent tables. We are proud to include his work this year."
Karlie Elliott - "Karlie grew up in Hayfork and loves the beauty of Trinity County - especially the creeks, mountains, and flowers. Karlie studied mathematics and art at Humboldt State University and returned to Hayfork three years ago. When she isn't teaching, she spends her time painting and drawing. "
Brindi Young - "Brindi is 26 years old and a 7th generation from Hayfork. Her creative inspiration usually comes from wildlife and all things fantasy; often mixing the two. She believes that there is no better place for her emotions to live than within the careful strokes of her pencil on paper. When she is not creating, Brindi can be found riding her horse through town with her parents, or teaching science and art classes at HHS."
Salt Creek Ceramics is a "loose consortium of ceramic artist located in Hayfork. They formed 3 years ago to present their works together in support of each other and to highlight the varied styles of the work. The group consist of Beth Ferreter, a very talented cabinet maker, her style is subtle and tasteful. highlighting airbrushed work as well as incredible cat mugs. Angel McMorrow, a talented craft artist whose work includes exquisite paintings, fabric art and many other craft items. Her ceramic work is highlighted by highly detailed pieces decorated with a myriad of birds and fishes. Chris Semer is a retired teacher from Hayfork, his work is highlighted by native motifs, images from nature and mixed color clays."
Marina Kalashnikoff - "Marina moved to our little town a year ago from Kazakhstan to help take care of family. Her Father was an artist and taught her to look for beautiful moments in life. Marina believes that Life in all it's forms wants to be noticed and admired. Through the eyes of artists and the prism of their work Life gets a chance to learn more about it's beauty and glory. "
