The heroine is saved from a horrible fate and the villain gets what he deserves. This is the plot of many melodramas. Mountain Actors Workshop (MAW) will present "He Ain't Done Right by Nell" by Wilbur Braun at the HHS stage on November 11 and 12, and November 18 and 19 at 8 p.m. Admission is $10 at the door.
This light-hearted, old-fashioned melodrama features MAW newcomers Alan Buell and Donald Troy Ferguson as the heroine and hero. They are supported by a cast of MAW veterans Tara Russak, Joe Hall, Tara Gwaltney, and Jonathan Hanover with an appearance by novice high school student Samarah Rhoades.
This play, directed by Chris Semer, is a rollicking adventure in a classic theater form that takes place in a turn of the century, rural mountain town beset with economic troubles. Audiences are invited to come "boo and cheer" the exciting action.
