Read the Q&A with Asher below.
What are some of your best accomplishments?
I have made some accomplishments which are passing school, being selected for the Student of the Spring Semester, getting grades that allowed me to pass school, having some friends, speaking to people more, and better physical change.
Which class do you believe showcases your skills best?
Classes that have best showcased my abilities are math and science related subjects such as pre-calculus or physics. The reason why those classes showcased the most of my abilities is because I tend to like puzzles, numbers, experimenting, guessing, and noticing changes.
Who are your role models and why?
My role models tend to be everyone that I’ve met. Each person has their own life story, lesson, and ideas. Whenever I would notice something great about people, I tend to try to understand their point of view in order to see what their goal is. By seeing that it is positively influential, I would try to apply to some things of my own life. There are some bad influences that I try to stay away from in my life, if I see how much it affected others.
What are your main motivations?
My main motivations would be changing the world or improving it. I want to learn more about the world to see more of the possibilities such as if humans are the only things in the world, what is the maximum amount of time things can live for, how to reduce the harmful substances in the environment, and how much can living things can change or grow based on what they’re exposed to.
After graduation, what do you plan to accomplish?
After graduation I hope to be able to reduce the amount of carbon dioxide that isn’t being consumed by anything and to further increase the growth rate of living things. That would only be possible after college though. I plan to go to Cal Poly Humboldt in order to get a degree in environmental engineering. I hope to use that degree to gain an income that could support me as I make or test things.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
I am not really sure where I will be in the next five or ten years. I like to make guesses on the future of other people or things based on whatever my instincts tell me. My own future comes at a blank to myself. I am completely unsure of what could happen no matter how hard I try to predict. It would always be a void that no one knows what is going to happen once stepped in.
What are some ways you unwind or relax after a hard day’s work?
Ways that I relax after a hard day's work would be to predict life, run around, drink water, lay down, and the best one is to swim. Predicting life just allows me to enjoy the potential of things, whether it is a good or bad result. Water just feels relaxing mostly, if it is somewhat cold. Swimming or drinking cold water just feels soothing to me. Running around or laying down will make myself feel free or loose to where I can feel like I could do many more things. It just makes me relaxed somehow.
If you could have a superpower what ability would it be?
I would like the ability to create anything the way I want it to be no matter how it looks. It would be much easier to make Earth safer, grow more, and discovery would be easier.
If you could have dinner with anyone, who would you choose and why?
If I could have dinner with anyone, then I would choose everyone that I have met throughout my life. It would be nice to see everyone again to talk about the good, the bad, and the ugly memories. Having the chance to thank everyone during that dinner would be very satisfying for me because I struggle to say what I feel is best to say sometimes.
