Hayfork High wrapped up their homecoming festivities on Friday October 22, 2021 with the parade across town and the football game at 6:00 P.M. afterwards there was the crowning of the king and queen, Andy Yang and Samantha Castellanos, for the royalty court along with a school activity shortly after.
“I was surprised when I won, but I am honored to have been crowned homecoming queen and I appreciate everyone that voted for me,” said Samantha Castellanos.
“Becoming homecoming King was an honor," said Andy Yang. "I'm thankful that I was bestowed such a title by my fellow peers. I've never thought that I was worthy of such kindness, but this crowning was evidence that the people wanted me to be in such a position. I live to make the people happy, and in turn, they've repaid me in so many ways. I'm thankful for the people that voted for me, my friends, and my family for supporting me. I hope that everyone reading this has a better day, as life is like the land, it can be rugged, steep, and uncomfortable, but there is always a calm beach at the end and a Sea to be explored."
