Poetry Out Loud is a national program, where students come together to recite a poem that relates to them on a deeper level than what meets the eye.
The Poetry Out Loud competition is a multi-step program. The first step is students versus students within the same school. This competition will determine who goes on to the county-wide competition at the Trinity Alps Performing Arts Center (TAPAC).
The HHS student competition will be held at the Hayfork High School cafeteria stage on Jan. 25, 2021 at 6 p.m. Seating is limited but family and students are encouraged to attend.
This year’s coach is Becky Stetson, assisted by Wendy Armagnac and Susan Weiss. They generously donate their time, knowledge and patience toward helping the participating students be the best they can be. “I have been coaching for three years, but because we skipped last year since COVID really only two,” said Coach Becky Stetson. “I love working with kids who turn out performances that they didn’t know they were capable of doing. Watching them support each other is a beautiful thing. I love it.”
Family, students and faculty are welcome to join and enjoy the magical experience of poetry.
