Destiny Stanley, a senior student at Hayfork High School, was elected for this year’s ASB President. Destiny ran for President because she yearned to contribute more school spirit and introduce more school activities for this year. Excited for her senior year, Destiny stated, “I wanted to create a fun school environment and have fun things to look forward to throughout the school year.”
What are her goals for this year? Though she has no specific goals in mind, she wants to focus on the school’s improvement in pride, spirit, and activities.
Every school president holds a huge role of responsibility, yet Destiny can easily meet those qualifications. Her positive attitude is always the best motivation along with hard in stressful times. Strong leadership can be called a talent, but she may secretly be a born leader. Destiny is also neat in her scheduling and responsibilities in the ASB; she specializes in going beyond boundaries and will continue to surprise us in the near future.
Destiny Stanley shared the leadership position in her past elective, Intermedia Arts. In her position being the co-editor of the team, she was thought of as an automatic leader. Adding to her leadership, Destiny also acquired leadership in her last year’s job, ASPIRE. She worked with kids and handled problematic situations smoothly.
Jacey Pickett is a senior at Hayfork High School. She ran for the position of Vice President because she wanted to offer more opportunities to the school stating, “I thoroughly enjoy having a chance to make a difference, and that’s what I plan to do!”
The goals of an ASB Vice President? Jacey will take us on a journey. She strives to “increase student involvement in dress-up days, at sporting events, and at dances”. She is a perfect silhouette of an ASB officer. She also thinks of the Hayfork High School past memories, stating that she would like to “help decorate the halls and gym with all of our old trophies” that had sadly been taken down in the past renovation.
As an elected ASB Officer, Jacey offers her strong work ethic, dedication to the events, and being very organized. In truth, it can be a lot of work and responsibility in ASB, yet Jacey is always organized with her schedules and future plans.
Jacey’s past leaderships are astonishing, showing that she is really qualified to be part of ASB. Her positions were Hayfork FFA Secretary for 3 years, class President for 3 years, ASB member for 3 years. She even went as far to participate in sports for 3 years. To add onto this, she is this year’s class Vice-President, Hayfork FFA President, and ASB Vice-President. She also mentions that, “I will be participating in sports for my last year of high school!”
Taylor Guilfoile is a senior at Hayfork High School. Upon taking the position of this year’s ASB Treasurer, Taylor is sure to aid the school in its future changes and events. She states, “I also wanted to be a part of the larger school community before I graduate this June.” For this year, Taylor values growing the upcoming events like this year’s homecoming and association of students. Throughout her experiences, Taylor realizes how much she would like to do better and improve the school events. She states that, “I would like to help organize events not just for the sake of hosting them, but for them to be remembered by students.”
Taylor’s qualities that she offers as a treasurer come from her past experiences. Such as, having a job as a cashier and participating in student fundraisers. All this sets her up perfectly for a position in ASB. She always has a positive attitude and will continue to help other students thrive in events and competitions.
She held leadership positions over her past sophomore class as treasurer and is the current volleyball captain for varsity. Adding to her past achievements, Taylor was also volleyball captain during her junior year.
Carly Faycurry, a junior at Hayfork High School, was elected for this year’s ASB Secretary. She came to be in office after seeking an opportunity to do more for the school community and social environment.
For this year’s 2023-2024 school year, Carly plans to uplift the school environment's atmosphere and promote school spirit.
As the current secretary, she stays calm and offers the ASB a positive attitude, patience that can go lengths, and creativity to add color and enjoyment to complete our ASB Office.
Though Carly doesn’t share any past leadership experience, she doesn’t let it pull her down. She states, “I knew I was ready to jump in with both feet.” She can overcome the impossible and future challenges that this year may throw at her.
