1) What are some of your best accomplishments?
Alyssa: My biggest accomplishment was probably gaining enough confidence to run for class president. I managed to successfully obtain the position and carry out the proper responsibilities effectively. When it comes to outside of school, I'm proud of the position I've made in my community and the long hours it took to get there.
Billy: I would say Hmong club was one of my best accomplishments. It was a way to raise awareness to Asian hate crimes and provide a space for the Hmong students on campus to connect and socialize. I didn’t expect the support we got from teachers and the principal and I hope that this club remains an important part of campus.
2) Which class do you believe showcases your skills best?
Alyssa: I believe English really showcases my skills. The class inspires me to do the best that I can and it pushes me to be my best self.
Billy: Economics because it taught important life lessons, marketing, and future prep.
3) Who are your role models and why?
Alyssa: I have two role models! First one is my English teacher, Ms. Tucker, because she has always been someone I can look up to and confide in. Mrs. Swanstrom is my second because the way she handles her responsibilities is admirable. As a principal, she handles a lot and manages to keep her cool, and that makes her someone I look up to.
Billy: I look up to my mom because she’s always been hardworking. She powers through a lot in order to take care of the family and support my education.
4) What are your main motivations?
Alyssa: I definitely want to get out of my comfort zone and experience new things. I want to take advantage of the opportunities that I have and live an easier life that differs from my parents' past difficulties. If I can do that, I can get a good job and survive financially. I’d like to support my family and make things easy for us.
Billy: Hmong artists creating entertainment and art for others to enjoy.
5) After graduation, what do you plan to accomplish?
Alyssa: I plan on planning a sustainable life independently like: getting ready for college, getting a job, finding my purpose and place in my college. I want to be able to thrive and meet others who want the same as me. I want to establish my role.
Billy: I want to be going to a 4 year college and obtaining my Bachelor's degree in business. I hope to work at a big company or even be my own boss.
6) Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Alyssa: I picture myself with the life I planned out. I see a house, my dream career, and maybe even a family.
Billy: I expect to be married by 25 with no kids and working at a big brand company and make a name for myself, Elon Musk style.
7) What are some ways you unwind or relax after a hard day's work?
Alyssa: After a hard day I like to be with my baby sister. She just started to walk recently and it’s nice having her hand hold mine while we walk together. I also enjoy watching TV or painting as a way to relax.
Billy: I like to play the piano and create music. Sleeping is also a great way to unwind.
1) If mankind had suddenly turned to animals, what animal do you think you would become?
Alyssa: A tiger. They’re leaders and fierce and I admire that about them.
Billy: Panda.
2) If you could have a superpower what ability would you have?
Alyssa: Teleportation because it would make traveling much easier!
Billy: Something to do with time, either time travel or the ability to stop time.
3) If you could have dinner with anyone, who would you choose and why?
Alyssa: I’d choose to eat with my Great Grandma. We weren’t close but I feel like if we had one last chance to see each other maybe that could change. I feel I could learn valuable things from her and even get to say goodbye.
Billy: A Dragon!
