With two minutes left in the third quarter, the Happy Camp team had a few injuries and did not have enough players to continue. The two head coaches and the officials all agreed to end the game right there.
Lorton had a huge night. He carried the ball 18 times for 179 yards with two touchdown runs, a touchdown pass, and he also scored on four 2-point conversions. Lee carried the ball 25 times for 131 yards with one touchdown run, one touchdown pass, and he ran in one 2-point conversion. Lorton led the Timberjacks on defense with six tackles (5 solo), and Hair had two fumble recoveries.
“We were a little flat in the first half following a four-hour van ride, but we looked great in the third quarter before the game was stopped” said Coach Mike Miller. “We need to find a way to come out with more intensity to start the game. With the win, Hayfork improves its record to 2-1 on the season and will host Elk Creek this Friday night at 6:00 p.m.”
