Hayfork won their 4th game in a row on Friday night defeating the Dunsmuir Tigers 66-0. Hayfork got off to a fast start. Levi Cavalli recovered his own onsides kick and then scored on the first play from scrimmage, a 46 yard run. He also converted the 2 point conversion and the lead was 8-0. After a quick three and out for Dunsmuir on their first possession, Hayfork scored on their first play again, this time a 61 yard run by Devin Nanez. Cavalli ran in the two point conversion and the score was 16-0. Hayfork shut down Dunsmuir again, and then moved down the field quickly on offense. Anthony Bonelli scored on a 22 yard run and Nanez ran in the two point play and the lead was increased to 24-0. Dunsmuir still could not move the ball on offense. Hayfork took over and scored on one play again, this time on a 50 yard run by Nanez. Cavalli's two point conversion made the score 32-0. After a blocked punt by Hayden Trossauer, Cavalli finished off a short drive with a one yard TD run and the first quarter ended with a 38-0 Timberjacks lead. Most of Hayfork's first year players dominated the playing time in the second quarter as Tatem Wiley scored on a 45 yard run, and Evan Pickett added the two point conversion to increase the lead to 46-0. Colton Allen ended the half with an exciting 30 yard touchdown run. Cavalli added the two point play and the halftime score was 54-0.
Levi Cavalli scored on a 60 yard run in the 3rd quarter and Hayden Trossauer scored on a 10 yard run on his only carry of the season and the score was 66-0. The score stayed right there for the duration of the game as the teams agreed to a running clock that began in the second quarter. Levi Cavalli had 107 yards on three carries, all three were touchdowns and he also had four two point conversions. Devin Nanez had 111 yards on two long touchdown runs, and Tatem Wiley had 75 yards on five carries including a long TD run. On the night the Timberjacks had over 430 yards rushing. On the season, Hayfork has still not thrown a pass. Defensively, the team again picked up another shutout, and were led by Anthony Bonelli who had 10 tackles (5 solo) and recovered two fumbles. Aidan Lorton had 11 tackles (8 solo) with a sack and a forced fumble and Devin Nanez had 10 tackles (7 solo). We had a real good week of practice, and it showed in the first quarter. The boys continue to work hard and we are focused on one game at a time. The Timberjacks are now 4-0 on the season (1-0 in league play).
