Hayfork posted another shutout Friday night against the Herlong Vikings. Hayfork scored on all four possessions in the first quarter and recovered two onsides kicks. Anthony Bonelli scored on a 42 yard run and Levi Cavalli added the two point play to give Hayfork an 8-0 lead. On their next possession, Levi Cavalli scored on a quarterback sneak from a yard out. Devin Nanez added the 2 point conversion and it was 16-0. After the onsides kick recovery, Cavalli scored on a 12 yard TD run and he also ran in the two point play and it was 24-0. The Timberjacks recovered another onsides kick and then Cavalli scored on a 31 yard TD run. Mukeng Yang added the two point play and the first quarter ended with a 32-0 lead. The second quarter began with a running clock, and Hayfork scored quickly on a 76 yard run by Bonelli. Yang added the two point play and it was 40-0. Hayfork ended the half on a 34 yard TD run by Cavalli. Yang ran in the two point conversion and the Timberjacks led at the half 48-0. The second half went by fast with the running clock. Aidan Lorton scored on a 7 yard TD run. Yang again ran in the two point play to increase the lead to 56-0. Colton Allan came in the game and scored on a two yard run to finish the scoring on the night. Hayfork walked off the field with a 62-0 win.
Anthony Bonelli had his best game of the year as he carried the ball 5 times for 162 yards and two touchdowns. Levi Cavalli had 147 yards rushing on 11 carries and four touchdowns. Hayfork as a team had 412 yards rushing on 30 carries and 8 touchdowns. The Timberjacks were also 7 for 8 on their two point conversions. Defensively, Bonelli had 6 tackles (3 solo) with an interception and two fumble recoveries. Cavalli had 7 tackles (5 solo) with an interception. Aidan Lorton had 9 tackles (6 solo) and Hayden Trossauer had a forced fumble. Hayfork has now scored 49 touchdowns as a team in eight games (1 forfeit win), and has given up one touchdown. They have outscored their opponents 364-6. The Timberjacks will go on the road to play the Butte Valley Bulldogs Friday night. We are focusing on one game at a time, and we look to go 9-0 on the season.
